TankWise provides general educational information about freshwater aquarium keeping. Content is provided "as is" for information only. Stocking levels, wattages and other figures produced by our calculators are estimates based on a published, deliberately conservative method — they are not guarantees of any outcome for your aquarium.
Animal welfare
You are responsible for the welfare of your animals. Fishkeeping outcomes depend on your specific equipment, water supply, and the individual animals, none of which we can observe. For illness, injury or persistent water-quality problems, consult an aquatic veterinarian or an experienced local fish store. Nothing on this site is veterinary advice.
Acceptable use
- Use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we agree otherwise in writing.
- Do not scrape the site at scale, attempt to disrupt it, or misrepresent our content as your own.

Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on this site's content or calculators, including loss of livestock. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect.
